Information we handle
Website requests can include an IP address, requested URL, browser information and technical request details processed by our hosting service. Search words and selected filters are part of the URL, so avoid including personal or sensitive information in a search.
The site does not create visitor accounts, collect payments, provide newsletter registration or include a contact form at present. No visitor analytics or advertising scripts are currently configured in the application.
Why we use information
We process technical requests to deliver pages and protect the site. The proposed lawful basis for these necessary operational and security activities is legitimate interests in running a reliable, secure website.
This basis and any hosting-related processing must be confirmed by the operator before launch. Optional analytics or marketing would require an updated notice and any applicable consent controls before use.
How long information is kept
Hosting log retention: [Retention period or deletion criteria to confirm with the hosting provider]. We have not configured a separate application database of searches or visitor profiles.
Children’s information
Our books may be intended for children, but the website’s choosing and purchasing information is for parents, carers and other adult visitors. There are no child accounts or features asking children to submit personal information.
Your rights and complaints
Depending on the processing and applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct or erase personal information, restrict its use, object to processing or receive a portable copy. Rights are subject to conditions; not every right applies to every activity. Contact the controller above to make a request.
If processing relies on consent in the future, you can withdraw that consent. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office: ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.
Updates
We will update this notice when the website’s data practices change. Review it again when new features such as analytics, email subscriptions or direct purchases are introduced.
